The Opportunity
The VP, General Counsel International Markets will be responsible for the overall legal oversight in the International Markets region. At Teva, the International Markets region is comprised of Asia Pacific, Russia and CIS, Canada, Australia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. This role involves managing the International Markets legal team and acting as the Legal Guardian, Business Partner, and Value Creator. The General Counsel International Markets will manage the provision of sound legal advice to ensure legal compliance in the realization of Teva’s business objectives in this part of the world. Additionally, we expect our lawyers to be change agents and in so doing to lead transformational projects to shape our external world and laws that govern us. The role involves a seat on the International Markets executive lead team with an expectation to provide strategic legal counseling but also business advice and contributions. Finally, the regions covered are very complex with many different laws and ethics challenges, resulting in trade sanctions, tariffs, and contacts with countries having the greatest perceived levels of public sector corruption as documented by Transparency International’s CPI.
Key Legal Responsibilities
Provide strategic legal guidance and oversight for all operations within the International Markets region.
Lead and manage the International Markets legal team from remote locations, different languages, challenging time zones, all while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Act as a trusted advisor and business partner to senior leadership both in IM and at corporate level, offering proactive legal solutions to support business goals.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies, mitigating legal risks and safeguarding Teva’s interests. Partner with the Compliance & Ethics organization and Audit function to help achieve these synergies.
Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents aligned with business development and alliance management partners.
