What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor: Manage and guide a team of two designers, providing feedback and professional growth opportunities, and ensuring a collaborative environment.
Vision and strategy: Define and implement the vision for the NBL's design team, ensuring that goals align with business objectives. Foster innovative design solutions tailored to the NBL's verticals, in line with the overall vision of the design group: "Design effectively with a purpose for results."
Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with product managers, R&D, marketing, and content teams to ensure seamless design integration. Take ownership of a two-week sprint cycle, including pre-planning and planning processes.
Hands-on design: Actively contribute to design deliverables such as design tasks, prototypes, and developer handoff files while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
Data-driven design: Leverage user research and feedback to guide design efforts, prioritize effectively, and drive impactful solutions that meet user and business needs.
Stakeholder connection: Act as the bridge between designers and industry stakeholders, ensuring efforts are aligned with strategic priorities and addressing areas of urgency.
Maintain design standards: Evolve and optimize our design system and component libraries to ensure consistency and scalability across all products.

Strategic mindset: Ability to think beyond visual design, challenge assumptions, and align design efforts with measurable business outcomes.
Financial industry expertise: Experience in or knowledge of financial services, particularly credit card, online banking, and car insurance-related sectors, is highly advantageous.
Collaboration skills: Proven ability to work across teams, including product, R&D, and marketing, to deliver cohesive results.
Technical proficiency: Expertise in Figma, familiarity with design systems, and experience integrating AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency (mandatory).
Leadership qualities: Ability to inspire and empower team members, foster a positive team dynamic, and manage challenges with resilience.
Adaptability: Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, evolving environment and responding to shifting priorities effectively.
English proficiency: Strong English communication skills are required (team is multilingual).
